I’m not your typical clipboard inspector. My background is hands-on. I started out on large renovations - everything from hospitality venues to high-end residential homes - before running my own renovation company for seven years.
I’ve pulled houses apart and put them back together again. So when I inspect a home, I don’t just see what’s there, I see how it’s been built, how it’s aged, and where problems are likely to show up. That’s the kind of insight you won’t get from someone who’s only worked on new builds.
As the owner of Book-A-Builder, I carry out every building inspection in Auckland’s North Shore myself. I check everything I can access, from the roof cavity to the subfloor, and if I can’t get to it, I’ll tell you why.
